Brand New // The Marilyn Dress

When you say "I'm wearing a leopard print dress with Marilyn Monroe's face all over it", it doesn't create the nicest image. However, I spotted this dress on SheInside and just had to get it. It's a little bit out there and may not be to everyone's taste, but I love it.

The dress itself is a nice, lightweight item which will be perfect for Spring and Summer. I think it could be layered up just fine for the colder months too, though. It isn't tightly fitted around the waist but still has definition, so it doesn't look too oversized. There is also a lovely lace-up detail on the back. The leopard print isn't too in-your-face and is actually the first leopard print item of clothing that I own - for that very reason!Despite the crazy pattern, the only bright colours come from Marilyn's lipstick and hair, so the dress is actually quite neutral. I think the dress looks great with my studded boots, but I'm also really excited to break out some sandals to pair with it soon!
