(top to bottom) Fuchsia Libre, Red Sunrise, Plum Russian |
There are two other colours in the collection, but I'm not a big fan of oranges on me so haven't picked up Orange Punch, and I'm not 100% sold on Peach On The Beach (my sister has this so I've given it a shot) as I think it's too pale for me. However, I do really love the colours I own.
Plum Russian is by far my favourite of the bunch and is the one I reach for the most. I think it would be a good option for those who want to transition into wearing darker lips, as the plum colour is darker than your average lipstick, but is sheer so isn't so in-your-face. I wear this most days, and I think it looks amazing with bronze eyes.
Fuchsia Libre and Red Sunrise are quite similar but, as the names suggest, Red Sunrise is more of a red toned pink while Fuchsia Libre is more blue toned. I like both colours but I do think I suit Fuchsia Libre more. It also makes your teeth look whiter! Similarly to Plum Russian, I think these would be a good option for those who want to venture into bright lipsticks without being too bright.
The formula of these are all really great. I find them moisturising and they feel really nice on the lips and not at all sticky. They can be swept on for a sheer wash of colour, or built up to create a more opaque finish. They are glossy, but I don't think they look over the top at all, and there isn't any glitter or shimmer in them. They are also really long lasting on me. The gloss wears off in a couple of hours but I find the colour fades gradually so I am left with it for a good 4-6 hours.
Clearly I love these to bits. Have you tried any of the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons?
P.S. I can never tell if Red Sunrise and Red Island are meant to be different colours. I've personally never seen Red Island in a shop but it is on the Boots website. So, if you know, please tell me!
