The New Haircut

If any of you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen the reveal of my new haircut! I felt like making a little post to show it off, and to talk it through.

I have been thinking of chopping my hair for a few months now, so finally booked an appointment for last Thursday. I think all of the sunshine we've been having recently got to me, and I felt like making a big change (does anyone else do that during the Summer?). I did actually want my hair an inch or two longer than this, but because my hair grows quite quickly, I thought I would get it cut a tiny bit shorter so I can hold onto this look for a little longer. In case any of you are wondering, I pointed out the length I wanted (about collarbone length) and asked for a blunt cut. I got it cut into a close-to-middle parting as I'm a hair flipper, so it's a good default for my hair to sit in.

I have had my hair this short before, but not for a good while. It's been really fun getting to play around with it, as with any new hairstyle, and I love that I can wear it totally messy and get away with it. I certainly still wore my hair somewhat dishevelled when it was longer, but I feel like it looks better with the shorter cut. My sweepy side part has also make a reappearance as, again, I think it looks a lot nicer on me now that my hair is shorter. Sadly it is too short right now to wear my beloved milkmaid braids, but once it has grown out a couple of inches I should be able to style it that way again!

So, that's my haircut. If any of you would be interested in me talking about my haircare or styling routine now that it is shorter, then please let me know!

P.S. I have a few more blog posts going up using photographs from when my hair was longer! It doesn't grow that fast.
