When the first batch of Rimmel Apocalips came out, I was intrigued but didn't give into the hype. At the time I wasn't a big fan of really bright colours on the lips. However, after finding out they had come out with a matte version of the liquid lipstick, and then spotting the gorgeous colour Meteoric Matte, I had to get it as soon as possible.
Meteoric Matte falls into that category of lipstick that I love - it's a deep berry shade with plummy undertones, but isn't super vampy or too purple. Because it's matte, it also doesn't look too dramatic when worn during the day. I never used to love matte formulas as my lips are always dry, but slowly I've been coming around to the products that don't completely dry out the lips - Apocalips being one of them.
This lacquer applies smoothly and opaquely, although it can be patted on with fingertips to stain the lips a slightly lighter shade which I have been experimenting with recently. It takes a minute or two from application to dry down to a matte, but then it's stuck there for hours with only minimal fading. It even lasts through food and drink well, and is just detectable on the lips - you can feel there's something still there but it's not sticky whatsoever!
I'm pretty much in love with this shade and want to take a look at the other shades because for me, the formula is spot on!
