Those Natural(ish) Lip Colours

As I mentioned in my New In post, I've been experimenting with more natural makeup recently. It's just something about Spring and Summer, making me want to look all fresh and pretty. While my berry lips are sitting aside, ready to be donned at a moment's notice, I've been reaching for these guys...

Rimmel's Kate Moss Lipstick in 08 and MAC's Lip Pencil in Soar are very similar in colour (more on that to come) but have different formulas - Soar comes out when I want a natural-but-different matte lip that will last all day, and 08 is perfect for simple, quick makeup days while leaning on the more satin side. And, sometimes I layer the two for an even longer lasting combo.

Speaking of quick and easy, Soap & Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Satin Lipsick in The Missing Pink is also a new fave. Its sheer formula means that it is the lightest lipstick I have in my collection, and although I need to wear it on a good skin day (if I'm looking lack-luster then this kind of washes pale me out), I really rate it. Plus, it smells heavenly!

Lastly, Rimmel's Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob is a well loved neutral, so much so that I now need to replace it - what you can see in the photo above it all that's left! Incredibly long lasting and creamy, it also leans on the mauve side which I love the look of. For a brighter version comes the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist. It's an odd cross between a bright and a neutral, and is another great long-lasting guy. It needs to be applied in thin layers and allowed to dry down, and the strong paint-like smell needs getting used to, but overall it's a winner.
