Once again it's time to look back at my favourite beauty discoveries of 2015. I've been good at not buying everything this past year but I did discover some gems, so here we go!
Zoeva Rose Gold Makeup Brushes >> We all know good tools make everything when it comes to makeup, and I'm so pleased with this set. Every brush is incredibly soft and make application so easy. I'm particularly partial to the 102 Silk Finish for foundation and the 227 Luxe Soft Definer and 231 Luxe Petite Crease for perfectly blended eyeshadow. Also, sneaky shout out to the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - I've not needed any other tools this year!
Soap & Glory Brow Archery Pencil >> In 2015 I've managed to get my brows to "good" (they're not quite "on point" yet), and this was one product I fell in love with. I began the year with the Tint and Pencil in Brownie Points, but more recently I've switched to the 2-in-1 Pencil and Brush in Hot Chocolate as I've been enjoying a slightly darker brow. I love that it has more precision with a thinner tip, and looks more like natural hairs than a block of colour.
Mac Soar Lip Pencil >> (Which I forgot to bring home for the holidays so it's not photographed, eek!) Yes, I did jump upon the Kylie Jenner hype. But in my defense, this is a gorgeous lip colour. For me it's a your-lips-but-better colour, a tad darker than my natural lip, and I love how the matte texture sticks around for hours without fading. It looks lovely on its own or under another nude lip colour.
Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Liner >> 2015 was the year I (somewhat) mastered liquid liner. I definitely appreciate the felt tip pen form, and this thin nibbed option was definitely my favourite. The formula is super black and I love the precision I can get with this one. What's more, is that it doesn't transfer to my eyelids which is something I usually struggle with.
Urban Decay Naked 1 Eyeshadow Palette >> I've loved the Naked 2 for a good few years now, but at a student night at my local shopping centre, I found myself picking the original up. I'm getting more into my warm tones recently and so this is a valued addition to my stash, and is pretty much all I've been wearing on my eyes since October! I particularly love Sin all over the lid with Naked and Buck in the crease for an everyday look, but I'm partial to Half Baked, Sidecar and Toasted also.
There you have it, my top five beauty discoveries of 2015! There were other products that I adored (a few lipsticks, and a new concealer and mascara discovery just missed out on the list) but I tried to think of what I reached for most. I wrote a companion post, My Top 5 Skincare Discoveries of 2015, which shall be up in two days so feel free to check back!
