I started working for my university's student run magazine in November, as the Fashion Editor. I've never really been the journalistic type but being able to write and curate fashion and beauty content for Magdalen Magazine basically means I get to write and edit the kind of content that would normally appear on my blog. The team I work with are a great bunch, and I'm so glad that I've finally found an extra-curricular at uni that I actually love - sorry sports societies, you are not for me.
I went to Cape Cod and Boston with my family in the summer, which was a bit of a last minute decision on my part. We stayed in Chatham which is such an idyllic little American town - I swear it felt like I was stepping into Stars Hollow when we went to see the town band perform at the bandstand in the park on Friday nights!
I got to study some of my favourite authors and novels in my first semester of 3rd year - from Jane Eyre to Frankenstein to Great Expectations (my love). It was one of those modules where I enjoyed (most of) the work and I was excited to go to class and analyse the shit out of those texts.
I got a tattoo! In the summer I finally took the plunge and got the tattoo that I've been talking about for three years. It was pretty much painless and I love that when I look down when I'm writing or typing I can see my little lotus flower. I've definitely caught the bug and can't wait to get some other dainty tattoos soon.
I haven't been in the best head space the past couple of months, but looking back on these moments has made me hopeful for 2017. I can't wait to get back into uni, back into being in a creative mindset, and spending more time with my loved ones. It's onward and upwards from here on out!
